"xero" is the story of X, a small sewn figure that views himself as more that what he really is. Through self-realization, discovery, and creative expression, he finds that his existence is not what it's cracked up to be. A metaphorical exploration, xero is a look into the lengths we go to improve how we see ourselves. This animated short was created in order develop the studio's new production pipeline. The workflow that resulted from this animation is now successfully used on other projects.

"It's not easy creating a whole new pipeline that way", says Studio Director Palmer Stinson. "It took a lot of extra time to develop and create this animation. This piece was not about trying to make an award winner. It was about making a workflow that will help us work efficiently, and that's exactly what we accomplished. We are finding that people really relate to the xero character. For us, that’s an added bonus. It is a cute, fun piece and he’s a quirky guy with a lot of potential.”
